Are you giving your power away?

As a visual person, I picture individual power as a white glow in the centre of each human.  It’s yours.  It belongs to you. I imagine it as a sacred site from which everything materialises.  Although gentle, this white glow isn’t a passive state, rather a steadfast and rooted energy, anchored in a deep place of knowing.

If you bring to mind a baby or young child, you can see they almost certainly know what they want (and are not afraid to tell you).  Communicating via screams, tears, gummy smiles of contentment, their needs are present right there in the moment.  That’s their power; their knowing.

Where did yours go?  Do you ever remember having it in the first place?

As you grow and develop, you become increasingly aware of what others want and need from you.  You learn who you are supposed to be, how you should act and behave.  You seek approval and love from others.  It feels good, right?

Until it doesn’t.  Until you are so far removed from who you truly are that sometimes you can’t even remember what that is.  Your power disappeared.  That light that once shone so brightly has dwindled, replaced by an incessant drive to meet others’ needs and expectations.

How’s that kind of ‘love and approval’ working out for you…….. really?

You have what it takes inside of you to remember your power.  It may feel like you lost it, but it’s not gone.  Not really. It’s there and always has been.  The tiniest flicker, just waiting for you to turn toward it and reignite the flame.

You can reclaim your own power again.  You can take it back from wherever you gave it away (or whomever took it from you).

And this kind of reclamation?

It's a special kind of beautiful.
